Bio
A graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, she worked for many years in banking, finance and investor relations and transitioned to the financial services industry in 1997, receiving the CFP® designation in 2000. She is the owner of BMW MoneyWorks, a fee-only financial planning and wealth management firm. Barb publishes a monthly e-news digest that looks at complicated financial issues with expertise as well as humor and insight. She speaks to various civic, charitable and professional groups and has had articles published in the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald and online. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Fox Valley Estate Planning Council and Women in Management (a board member and winner of the Woman of Achievement award). Her community involvement includes the Elgin YWCA (board member and chair of the Finance Committee); First Congregational Church of Dundee (Endowment Fund chair, choir, Mission Team chair of school supply drive); Sigma Kappa sorority alumni (Philanthropy VP - organized the Alzheimers Research Memory Walk) and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, PADS and Community Crisis Center meals program.
